Sand eel vs. White herring pattern

Bill and Kevin McDevitt fished with me this morning and for the majority of the charter fished either a 5 inch sand eel deceiver or a 5 or 6 inch all white with peacock herl herring pattern. The sand eel produced more fish as well as all of our 35 inch plus fish today. As a fish locator I would occasionally throw the 9 inch slug-go which would almost instantly produce boils from big stripers!! Back at it in the morning!!
