The daily blitz

This week was just a ton of fun featuring morning and evening blitzs in the Merrimack. The bait to create these spectacular feeding frenzies is two inch sand eels by the ton. The real highlights were Saturday the 18th with Michael from Denmark who somehow lucked out on having a weekend day with nobody else out on the Mack! The surface feed on this morning was some of the most concentrated and organized stuff that I have ever seen. Another highlight was the surface feed on the morning of the 21st. The 87 fish that we caught on this day averaged 18 to 24 inches however we managed to get half a dozen fish in the low 30 inch range. All in all, an incredible week of throwing flies and plastics into the daily blitz.
